Sssh…. The Wolf growled. His aquamarine eyes gazed the surrounding as the Wind of West Temple breezed over his hairy dorsal. He walked slowly amidst the dark and ancient forest.
“hmm~ hmm~ hmm~”
Dear my Ocean, why are you doing this? Are you still alive? Is he alive too?
There’s two little guy, sitting in a cliff- facing the blue ocean that blending in with the sky. Ocean and his best friend really like hanging out in that cliff. I really wonder what Ocean thinking right now.
“Ocean ! Ocean!”
The young boy calling to his best friend- shaking his friend, happily
“What?”
Ocean asking with boring tone
“Stop Daydreaming!--” *beep* *beep*
Who are they? The Wolf stretching his earlobe. He could sense worries, excitement, doubt, and summertime sadness. What are these strong senses and how do these humans possess?
The Wolf was a hundred and thirty seven years old – emotions are none of strange existence for him – but his body shivered of worries – heaved him like a weight of a trench; his dopamine overflowed of excitement; walking was a long sorrow to do – the doubt was binding the freedom and cursing his liberation; and summertime sadness had brighten the path but was also confusing as the multiple intersection.
The Wolf continued to walk down to the path where the senses echoed like a howl in the moonlight midnight.
Ocean, please… go back to your senses
*Ocean breathe heavily*
“What the fuck? What?”
Ocean, please calm down
“Where am I? What is this feeling?”
*he pull his hair*
“Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa—“
The Wolf grabbed his t-shirt. His clenched teeth exchanged the pressure with the mist of salty water. The boy who almost fell to the six feet from the edge surprised,
Don’t jump. Wolf said.
Don’t let the doubt brushed over your fragile tiny heart.
The boy saw through the eyes of the Wolf…
And then he faint- *beep* *beep*
Do you know, my Ocean… ? Do you know who he is?
He’s laying down in a hospital bed, staring at the ceiling- thinking about everything. He doesn’t know where he is now. He’s still confused about his feeling.
“Hey, stupid wolf… why did you stop me?”
He looked around; nobody was there. But Ocean knew there was a barely voice went around his head.
I have persuaded you to not be worry, young Human.
A ghastly figure sat on Ocean’s tummy; light weighted shadow but heavy shadowed of wisdom and intimidation.
What makes you tend to hang on one side of the cliff? I have a strong sense of your darkness yet an ambience of light has not left. But buried inside.
He nodded his head to the eye level.
And purred.
“I- I don’t know, It just- I’m mesmerized with the idea of death”
Ocean said to this wolf, looks so down and confused. Then, a young boy start to rush in to the room. Ocean, my dear Ocean… you’re so innocence
“Oceaaaan !”
The young boy calling to Ocean with a really sad face and he stand cheerfully beside him.
“What is it? Can’t you slow down?”
Ocean still reply with a boring tone
“Are you okay? I’m worried about you!!”
Oh Really? Ocean thought.
“I’m okay, don’t worry about me”
An obstinate presence, such an intact absence.
The Wolf glared down to the tiny young man. He loathed this creature. What could be so negative but deep down this creature was an infinite possibility? He never met, not even once in his lifetime.
Ocean looked to have enough but the Wolf understood there must be something going between them. The Wolf wanted to save Ocean; there was still goodness gracious left inside him and slowly being eradicated by the innocence eerie feeling as the aforementioned creature rushed inside.
“Can you guys, please shut up for a moment? And let me think?”
I know, that none of you are real
“Ocean…”
The young boy called out- slowly
Silencieux!
The Wolf might be a wisdom cupboard but he was also a temperament cup of glass. He roared, clinched, and flinched by the idea of this dilly-dally. Ocean closed his eyes slowly at his own. The Wolf didn’t know what he was up to but as the tiny creature standing next to Ocean really dug Wolf’s patience.
The sunset was done about 8 minutes ago but the shadow on his deep blue fur had gone and the stars on his eyeballs were twinkling in fierce.
He wanted to crush the creature down but he knew that he must be one of inner homunculi inside someone’s head.
So he waited until Ocean open his eyes. But he didn’t know when.
The little creature must be none of the good ones. He was sure about it, no doubt, no worries.
And Ocean was the one he wanted to save.
Ocean…
Just like his name… He’s standing above the ocean
Joining with the dark
“Dear mother…, where am I now?
Am I still drowned?
Am I already flying?
Or
I’m just floating?”
Ocean never knows when all this stupid feeling and thought came in to his head. When he realized it, he already this mad. Ocean always dreaming about moment in his life. When he does everything that he wants to do.
“Ocean… you don’t have to believe in me…
I’m just your happy dreams…
The dreams that everyone hates…
I’m a dream that makes you this sad…
I know, you want to get rid of me…
But, if you need me- I’m always here”
Ocean can feel that he’s not in the hospital bedroom anymore. He’s standing in the cliff and the young boy floating in the air- waiting for a flying whale to pick him up.
“I will always believe in you, my Ocean
Believe that you always try your best in living this life…”
The young boy now, flying away with the whales. Ocean open his eyes with a teary eyes.
--
“Thank you, ladies and gentlemen! Thank you for your enthusiasm!”
A soft caress on his neck snapped him as the saxophonist blew the last horn and the drum delivered the last beat. The vocalist went down defying the crowd and the rest of the band setting off the instrument.
What are you thinking?
A tremble, humble Venus words flew away around his head, like a comet spinning around the solar system. It enlightened his mind, sobering up what was like the ocean and pouring down the consciousness like shooting stars.
Ocean…
Love? She repeated, it was obvious worry spilled and yearning for explanation.
And it was a plausible moment to defend yourself from what you call ‘daydreaming’
Nothing, he said. The lady wrapped his arm around his, and rested her chin on his bulky plane shoulder. The fragrance; it was a tingling like a moistened forest, infinite like the open sky,
And soothing like a wise wolf, deep blue glowing fur, and a desperate of failed attempt in saving someone’s worth.
Well, I remember someone I cherish the most. He liked to fly. With a flying whale. And he hated wolf because there was one chasing him when he camped on national park to kilometers from my house.
Hmm, I never know you had son before? How could he come to fond of flying?
He sipped his martini. It ran out to the last drop. He seek out for the bartender and order another glass of gin without offering to the lady. He put on a cigarette and took a deep blow.
I don’t know,
At least that’s what my son tried to tell me before he finally jumped off the cliff two years ago.
Epilogue
Ocean is a suicidal boy, he always thought about jumping from a cliff. This cliff, is also a place where he hang out with his friend- a very cheerful young boy that believe in flying whales.
“Hey Ocean, what are you doing?”
said the young boy without even looking at the other.
‘I’m having enough of this’
the Ocean said in his little heart.
“Hey !”
shout the young boy
“Look ! flying whaaaleees”
the young boy continue as his finger point at the magical animal.
“This day must be the best day for us!”
the young boy said happily.
“Really?”
ask Ocean, he doubt it. Actually, he never had a good day.
“Yeah !”
the young boy said it with a lot of hope in his voice.
“Come on ! Let’s Jump!”
“What !?”
Now Ocean really surprised by what the young boy said. He took a lot of years thinking about jumping from the cliff, but the young boy really didn’t hesitant at all.
